New controversy in IPL: Hyderabad, Mumbai play out to Kolkata: Kolkata fans with allegations: IPL play-off fixture

The last session of the Indian Premier League, which flew abroad, was not without controversy. Criticism is now mounting against Mumbai’s move without Bumra and Bolt in the last league match. Mumbai, who went without Bolt and Bumra, are now accused of conspiring to oust Kolkata.

The allegation comes after Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets in the IPL on Tuesday to advance to the playoffs. With 17 balls to spare, Hyderabad chased down Mumbai’s 150-run target. Kolkata Knight Riders were eliminated from the tournament with the victory of Hyderabad.

David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha gave Hyderabad an easy victory. Warner (85 off 58 balls) and Saha (58 off 45 balls) were unbeaten.

Mumbai lost the toss and opted to bat, scoring 149 in the allotted overs. Mumbai had a shaky start. Opener Rohit Sharma scored just four runs. Rohit’s wicket was taken by Sandeep Sharma.

After Rohit’s return, Decock tried to raise the score but was bowled out for 25. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishant Kishan, who later teamed up, crossed the 50 marks. However, Shahbaz Nadeem again got the game in Sunrisers’ favor by dismissing Suryakumar at 81 on the scoreboard.

Pollard and Ishan combined to score 100 runs. Ishant, who scored 33, was sent back by Sandeep Sharma. It was the bowlers who smashed the Mumbai batting line-up. Sandeep Sharma took three wickets for Sunrisers.

With this, the IPL playoff line-up. The first play-off will be between Mumbai and Delhi. Hyderabad and Bangalore will meet in the second play-off.
