How to take GD Entry for Accidents

What is the use of Kerala Police app?
Information on Nearest Police Station- Based on the location of the citizen, the app shows the nearest police station and also facilitates navigation to the same.

What is the procedure for accident case?
Step 1: Inform your insurance company about the accident and the extent of the damages to your vehicle. 
Step 2: File a First Information Report (FIR) at the local police station. 
Step 3: Submit required documents with the insurance company.

What is a GD police?
What does GD mean? General Diary (GD) is an important document maintained in an Indian Police station, which is used to record every major incident such as theft, murder, and traffic accident that happened within the jurisdiction of the police station on a daily basis.

What is difference between GD and FIR?
A general diary (GD) entry or a daily diary entry is made when any kind of complaint is lodged and the police enter the details in their records. Thereafter, if the police believe that there is some prima facie evidence of a cognizable offense being committed, it is registered as an FIR.

How to download FIR?
You can search and download the published FIR from this page by providing following details
  • Enter the FIR number
  • Select Year of registration of FIR. FIRs from November 2016 is available for downloading
  • Select Police district (Name of district or Crime Branch or Railway Police) from the dropdown
  • Select concerned Police Station name form dropdown
  • Add security code displayed in the form. If the security code is not readable click "Not Readable" link to change the security code
  • Click "Search FIR" button to search
  • A "Download FIR" button will be displayed if the FIR is published for download otherwise error message will be displayed
  • Click on "Try another FIR to download" link to download another FIR.
